Ashtanga yoga

Ashtanga yoga, sometimes referred to as Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, is a style of yoga that was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and T. Krishnamacharya in the 20th century.

Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic, flowing style that connects the movement of the body with the breath. The method stresses the importance of daily practice of a set series of movements. Each series is always is the same sequence and focuses on different benefits.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is rooted in the ancient shamanic tradition of China, and in the Chinese Taoist philosophy of being at one with everything and in harmony with your own nature.

Yin yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses, targeting the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues, ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body  rather than the muscles.

Hatha & Vinyasa yoga

Hatha

HA means sun, and THA is moon, assuming this term the complete union between sun and moon, between solar energy and lunar energy, the masculine and feminine that inhabits all of us. Others translate it as "the yoga of strength". We could also call it "the yoga of postures", since it is a more static style, not as dynamic as vinyasa yoga or ashtanga, to deepen each asana by holding them for a certain time. A typical class will be relatively gentle, slow and good for beginners, however can also be adapted for a more strong and advanced practice. In this discipline physical exercise is combined, as they are postures that give strength and flexibility, with breathing and meditation techniques. Postures are normally held from 8 breath to 5 minutes or longer depending on the practice.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa flow or yoga flow, is a style of dynamic yoga in which the postures are matched to the breath in fluid sequences of movement. The term vinyasa represents "the union of breathing and movement", and apart from being a type of yoga, "vinyasa" is also the name given to the sequences or transitions that fulfill this union. Vinyasa flow is fast and rhythmic however can also be practiced at a more slower paced, classes usually are accompanied by music.

Unlike styles like ashtanga, vinyasa classes do not have established series, no two classes are the same because the postures are not fixed, the sequences are creative and entertaining. The main difference between vinyasa and hatha can be seen with the naked eye: while vinyasa is dynamic and fluid, hatha tries to hold the postures more still, for longer, and with less dynamism. The classes are a mix of meditation, pranayama and, above all, energizing and revitalizing movement.

Sound healing therapy

Sound healing is a powerful therapy that combines different healing sounds, music, tones and other sonic vibrations to balance and heal and to improve our multidimensional well - being. It involves using specialized sound frequencies to create a therapeutic atmosphere to promote deep rest, nervous system rebalancing and emotional release.

I offer private one to one or group sound healing sessions with the 7 Himalayan Singing Bowls. The singing bowls produce the primordial sound of “AUM” the fundamental utterance of energy metamorphosing into matter. They alter space, mind and time, awakening cellular memory and healing the energy body.

Sound healing is used to reduce symptoms caused by many conditions like; stress, anxiety, depression and blood pressure levels, behavioural and psychiatric disorders and much more., it also improves sleep quality and overall well being. deep relaxation is the most significant benefit of sound healing.
